Pre-Approval & Lender Suggestions
It's important to get pre-approved for financing early in the home buying process. A seller will be more willing to accept your offer if it is accompanied by a pre-approval letter from a lender because it shows you have the financial resources available to make good on your offer. Once we find a great home, time may be of the essence, so you don't want to lose it to another buyer because you're scrambling to get pre-approved at that time.
You can work with any lender you choose, but I wanted to provide some suggestions. My clients have had good experiences with these lenders. They are local to the greater New Orleans metro area, offer a full spectrum of loan products, and provide exceptional service. They will do whatever it takes to get the job done so your transaction closes on time!
Important note: When shopping for a home loan, if you give multiple lenders permission to pull your credit score, make sure they all pull it within about 14 days of each other! That way it counts as only one inquiry. If too much time passes in between the pulls, it counts as multiple inquiries and that could lower your credit score!
